Biocultural Landscapes are those particular land spatial ambits

defined by the permanence and compresence of cultural,

anthropogenic, biotic and abiotic elements, connected each other by

networks of sometimes simbiotic relationships, generated in a millenary stratification, interaction and sedimentation on the territory

In some of these areas, human presence is not dominant over other living beings. Man has led historically, sometimes unintentionally, sometimes with utilitarian reasons, the presence of a retinue of other species and, in some cases, these presences are the consequence of cultural practices, or voluntary and involuntary species releases. Very often biocultural landscapes’communities are characterized by genetic peculiarities and high biodiversity values.
